Cross Border Irish Health Programme cares about
your health reducing the length of waiting lists
Cross Border Irish Health is a programme specifically developed to assist and support Irish public healthcare.
It is designed to offer a fast and excellent hospital service in Spain to everyone entitled to public patient healthcare in Ireland.
CBIH is based on the innovative Cross-Border Healthcare Directive (CBD) that entitles people to public patient healthcare in Ireland to receive hospital treatments and services in another EU/EEA member state, being reimbursed by their home country's health service.

Our aim is to reduce the length of time people are on waiting lists before receiving treatment in Ireland.
CBIH offers a 360-degree service to all patients applying to the programme.
From the supporting and guiding the patients in completing the entire procedure for applying to their fly and stay in Spain to be treated.
Why in Spain instead of Northern Ireland?
I came to Spain to have my cataracts done. Everything perfect. When I first heard about the programme, it sounds a little bit too good to believe it. Then, I figured.
I got my hip done in Spain. Everything went good. Back to Ireland, I am able to walk by myself again! Thank you!!
It’s hard to believe that I had been waiting for more than 2 years for this operation in Ireland. I finally took the decision to contact CBIH and I got my cataract done in 2 weeks! I will never be able to thank you enough for your help!
I came to Spain to have my first cataract done. I felt like home. After a month, I decided to come back again to have my second eye treated. Thank you the whole team!
